How did you learn the value of a dollar? Who taught you how to save, wisely spend and enjoy the money you've earned or been gifted?

For most of us, most of the money we received from doing chores, getting good grades, birthdays, doing errands around the neighborhood or from Grandma and Grandpa was either spent the moment we got it, resided between mattresses, piggy banks or some other seemingly inconspicuous hiding place. Or, our parents put it in a bank account that they managed and we only thought about when there was new birthday money to deposit.

None of these methods did much to prepare us for the real world of buying saving spending and investing. Many of us had to learn the "hard way" while the rest of us are still trying to figure it out.
